Zoom sounds really nice, unless you are into games. The Ipad has that market, mostly -- for now, anyway. Zoom is supposed to be great for surfing. |

I've owned an iPad since April 2010, and just recently upgraded to an iPad 2. I love it for the same things most do: size, comfort, iOS, multitude of apps, ease of use, quality of build, etc.
The only other tablet I've had hands-on time with is the Galaxy Tab and I found it sluggish, cheap feeling, too small, and altogether underwhelming. Again, that's just my taste.
However, Engadget recently reviewed a preview unit of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which, I think, looks pretty damn solid.

I do find Apple to be rather obstinate in some of the controls they allow their users over the UI, and this is a place where Android can really shine and, I hope, push Apple to give a little more customization to their devices. I can buy skins and wood cases for my iPad and have it laser engraved but I can't change the same blue notification blocks that've been a part of iOS for years now. |

The original Tab pretty much sucks. I can't help but laugh at people who buy it for their actual phone. |

I agree.
I have used PCs for many years and constantly changing gadgets. This is the 1st time I bought Apple product, IPAD2. I love it even with the pricey price tag it is worth it. Android 2.2 crashes often same goes for 2.3 as reported by some users.
Android 3 may be nice but u have to be cautious on which DroidTablet as the hardware architect does vary significantly between vendors. Better spec does not necessary translate to stable running tablet in Droid market.
I did consider XOOM b4 the IPAD2 purchase but the actual display performance of XOOM did not live up to it's spec. And same goes for the CAMERA.
ASUS? Ihaven't seen any yet in SEOUL. But if I were in Canada, I wouldn't mind buying one since it's only 499cad for 32gig (200,000won less than the 32g IPAD2). |

I have an elementary school student who inherited a Galaxy Tab from her parents and proudly uses it as her cell phone. It's actually pretty hilarious, sort of the opposite of Zoolander. |

The app selection and the build quality of the iPad made the decision pretty simple for me. After my experience with Samsung cameras I bought along with those my school is equipped with, I'm a bit wary of the brand. |

galaxy tab 10.1 looks sick, but the ipad 2 is also amazing. I'm subtlely (hopefully) gauging my dad's reaction to both by having him tell me about his galaxy tab impressions, then I'll get him whichever one bowls him over more. |

Not a huge fan of apple, but the ipad really is the only good tablet (until tap10.1 comes out.) |

That's awesome! I saw an adult male using a Dell Streak as a phone, and it looked absurdly large. I can only imagine a young girl using a 7" cell phone. |

obviously u don't use a tab up to your ear, and anybody who does is a tool! the video function plus bluetooth is great for tab's... and the phone call option on the galaxy is a nice touch! i agree, the 1st galaxy tab was garbage, but honeycomb 3.0 is supposed to be a bit iffy, with a 3.1 update "coming relatively soon". (and android 2.2/2.3 was NOT made for tablets, and the tab 1 specifically, which was rushed out in release IMO, while this next generation of galaxy phone/tabs were more carefully planned out, to be a real/if not better competition to apple's stronghold. 3M pre-orders for the sII? wow)
this new galaxy tab 10.1 (or 8.9, which comes later, hopefully not TOO later because that would be ideal), i'm possibly planning on picking up an 8.9 to use as my primary phone (i don't talk on the phone much anyway). i used to think it would be REALLY inconvenient to use the tab 10.1/8.9 as a primary phone, but since it's going to be so light, i think it'll be fine!
