Hey guys,
I just swapped out some ram in my computer for some 1600mhz ripjaws. When I turn the pc on now, however, it shows them running at 1648mhz. Is that normal?
Also, lately when I turn on the power of my pc, it will come on, then turn off immediately, then come on again in about 2 or 3 seconds and boot up fine. I'm not sure what to make of this. I don't think my power supply is insufficient, since when I play games the pc remains stable.
Any thoughts on either of these questions would be appreciated! |

For the RAM....cool, you get a little overclock! I wouldn't worry. Maybe your mobo has some kind of optimization program for the RAM. As long as everything works, then no problem......but it must be said that lots of tech site benchers have found extremely little real world benefit in RAM running 1333 or 1600.....but if you're OC-ing it's great to have the 1600 RAM.
The turning off for 2-3 seconds is more worrying. Does the actual power LED turn off during the 2-3 seconds? |

Yeah, it turns on, all the led's and fans start up, then it all shuts off immediately, all led's, all fans, everything. Strange, but it never fails to turn back on and boot up normally after about 2 seconds. |

I really don't know.
Best guess would be that the PSU's trip-switch is activating incorrectly, but then why would it start up again so quickly? |
