Does anyone know of a good place around Seoul that sells trekking backpacks (55-70L). I've been to a few places around Namdeamun and Itaewon, but haven't had much luck. Any advice would be great!
Cheers. |

It likely won't be the cheapest option, but I think all of the big department stores, Shinsegae, Lotte, etc. have a floor that is mostly hiking and golf equipment. All of the big pack companies seem to have stores there. Gives you a good places to try out a bunch of stuff in one location. |

What makes you think ESL teachers will know anything about backpacks?

Just because your fresh off the boat doesn't mean others don't have some life experience. |

not cheap--- but lifetime guarantee all over the world, OSPREY packs are readily available here, and probably the best you could do.
you could buy a similarily priced deuter or north face backpack from emart or shinsegae and be getting half the quality.
a quick gmarket search for osprey, and then using the "shop locations" on the individual product page will lead you to a cluster of shops around namdaeumun and dongdaemun... |

Yea I really like the function of Osprey backpacks. The hip pockets are incredibly useful for stowing your camera, spare batteries, and energy bars in easy reach. Comes with a rain cover. Bag design could be a little better, There's 1 big compartment and maybe another smaller compartment depending on the size and model. I carry a lot of small things, so this part frustrates me to no end. And there's no behind the back trekking pole straps.
Those are minor faults though, its a great bag and it distributes the weight to your hips pretty well. |
