Please. I tried the search. All I get is a white screen. This is a re-occurring question and I saw some great (non-post-office) info a few months ago, but I sure as heck can't find it now when I'm in need. (and i'm in need of Korea to the US)

And anyone who has the info, please chime in! Let's make this a really awesome informative sticky-worthy thread!

This company will ship to the US, but it's certainly not a savings. However they will handle sizes the Post Office won't handle (your bike box, your giant suitcase) and I think it's pretty much less than a week service-- so fast. http://www.shipnex.com/express-rates.aspx

CJ GLS is the company that sends the iherb stuff to Korea, so I called them, they weren't enormously helpful at first, I had to be assertive. I talked to the guy at 02-870-6597. They have to calculate volume and weight and which ever is bigger is what you're going to pay for. Sending my bike (takes a lot of volume but not so much weight) would be pretty prohibitive, easier to take it on the airplane. http://www.cjgls.com/eng/about/way.asp

A friend found this info for me:

I found one private company that can deliver your stuff to the US, tel no. 02 322 1061, located in 마포. they will pick up your stuff at your place then they will package it. to their US logistic centre(located in central L.A.), it's 400K Won, to your door, it will cost 700k Won. the max weight can be 100kg(a little bit heavier should be okay), it's a sea shipment. so expect it to take a bit longer than the air.

considering my boxes and boxes of papers and books related to my research, this might be worth it. It's all heavy stuff, but each box of it will only cost me around 36,000 through the post office, so is this a savings if you don't factor in the bike issue?
