|
|
so here's my problem:
i have a Korean Xbox but i had to make a hotmail account with an american address in order to get xbox live in English (apparently the only people who use xbox live in Korea are Koreans, forget about the thousands of GI's and english teachers!! I hate you microsoft!)..
But i've found out that the actual redemption codes for the Xbox live gold membership renewals are region protected (asia, america and europe)..
I dont know if i should buy an american or an asian Xbox live gold code and i dont have a credit card so i cant buy a region free one..
any suggestions? |

the xbl code is tied to your account, not machine. so if your account is US. then you need to buy an american xbl code. ebay, or whatever from home. |

I have a Korean XBox but my live account is U.S.
I have used Korean, American and European (Italy) redemption codes without any hitches. |

Sorry to go n00b, but I'm getting a US region Xbox soon.
Should I buy a gold membership from korea or the states? Will either work?
Thanks. |

Have you tried the Live Gold Subscription from Amazon? It's about the same price as the Korean subscription. |

Yep, I renewed my last 2 years through Amazon's Live Gold (online code), no issues with region protection (I have a US Xbox) |

It's funny that the online code is $15 more than the physical card for the same service...

I am about to buy an Xbox in Korea and am hoping someone can answer my question. I will probably buy a Korean Xbox, but I want to play games like COD: Black Ops with friends in the U.S. So, can I use a Korean Xbox but set my XBL account up as a U.S. account and do this? I appreciate any help anyone can give me. |
