Lots of questions I had asked recruiters and I get a variety of responses.
It was direct to just go through EPIK. Isn't there a more direct way to get hired? 1 yr experience and 140 hrs of TEFL..
Status: Currently working in Seoul, Public High School and finishing up my contract ending on the 24th. I need to have another job lined up. ASAP, as close to SEOUL as possible. No gaps here.
Gimpo, Anyang are decent choices.
The school will not renew me, but at least they wrote some nice recommendation letters already. I know for a fact I'm a very competent teacher, there are specific reasons.
-First of all one told me I don't need to use a recruiter
-Another told me i CANT USE A RECRUITER (POLICY OF SMOE/GEPIK/EPIK)
-I was told I need a fresh set of new documents.
---Biggest hurdle is how long its gonna take to get an FBI CBC APOSTILE BS , 8-10 WEEKS WHAT?!!
- I need this to get a renewal of my E2-VISA, correct?
I have my fingerprints ready to be mailed.
-I can deal with the other Degree apostiles but if if i don't have to , I'd like to know.
-One recruiter said I could be locked down for a position now and they'll wait for other documents later (Since there's no way i could have commited a crime in USA if I haven't been there since the start of my contract).
-A lot of recruiters won't bother with me unless i have everything in hand.
(In addition, they lie and tell me there's a school thats right next to Seoul when its right next to Busan lol.
-Isn't there a way to retrieve my degree apostiles from SMOE?
-I can't like "transfer" my status to another school?
Should I apply to a POE directly? Does anyone have the info for Gyeonggi do school POE? I have trouble googling "GEPIK" the sites in google come up with other bs and rcruiters but not the main site. Googling EPIK was much easier.
I read through so many of the pages and pages of posts, but I still dont have all the answers i need. |
