Does anyone know about the logistics about receiving this money (severance and airfare) from overseas? I am not particularly confident about relying on my school to send such a large sum of money as it is. I dont even know if my final salary will be included in this and what, if any, role my bank (woori bank) has in this.

My school and principally my co-teacher are being very difficult with my final pay package (severance and airfare). She is basically avoiding all my questions and advances with the usual 'Im busy' or 'let's talk later' and even saying that 'money isn't her major'.

I was going to give them a copy of the remittance form from my bank with all the details and relevant information.

Anyone know much about the process or could shed some help, id be eternally grateful.

Make it as easy as you can for them. Set up your Korean account to send money online to your bank at home. KEB seems to be the best bank for this. Others might have success with different banks as well.

Then, all your school needs to do is put your money into that account. You can transfer as little as you want/need and it is still there.

Don't tell them you aren't coming back to Korea. This is a good way.

From what you stated, it sounds like they don't want to pay you your severance and airfare. I'd keep confronting her (firmly but politely, of course) about it, asking her to give it to you on your last day of work. From what I've heard from others on here and elsewhere, I wouldn't count on seeing that money once you've already left the country.
