I am happy to announce that it is possible to do overseas remittance using your online account at Shinhan.
In the event that I leave the country without returning, I can stil get my cash.
BTW, everyone here should have online banking. When you set it up you get a digital certificate code that allows you to do things like reserve an appointment online for immigration, shop at gmarket and check your pension balance online among other things. |

| Oh and I did it at 10pm at night. If there were some major currency affecting event that happened after 4pm when the banks close here, I can still get the closing rate. |
