Korean nationals are already required to register all 10 fingerprints.

How tyrannical, unjust, and racist, demanding foreigners intending to live in the country longer than a few months do something that all natural born citizens have to do as well.

Will this be done upon exit or reentry? Any idea how long it might take?

I assume on re-entry or at an immigration office when people are getting their ARC or visas?

No but that's only because even the computers can't tell them apart either.

tit-for-tat.

No different than a foreigner going to the States (or Japan for that matter); scan your print and take your picture.

Oh, and until 2004, ALL foreigners were fingerprinted when we registered as a matter of routine.

Don't Koreans have mandatory government photo IDs? I'm struggling to think about how these facial scans are going to affect your life above and beyond the way in which such ids would. This really doesn't seem unjust, racist, or discriminatory. At all.

I agree, its not completely unreasonable to have this, although your point about the Govt IDs in place of a nation facial scan doesn't make sense as all foreigners have IDs also.

I wasnt really looking for a big argument or anything, if you read another comment I made, i dont disagree with what is going to happen.
I just was reading the Korean Hearld, saw this article with news about foreigners. since this is a place where people post things to do with foreigners in Korea I thought it was appropriate to do so.

Was I wrong?
