Anyway who actually makes the decision to put your application through if you have applied before but havent been interviewed/applied before but done the interview but failed.
Im assuming its GEPIK,but could it be the recruitment agency? The school you are being put forward for the job in?Thats another slant in the question. It's quite complicated, isn't it?
Why Im writing all this is becuase Im trying to work out if it is worth it for me to apply to GEPIK now at this late stage, risk my application not being looked at -not being its bad just because we are at a late stage-
So my application will not be looked at but instead rejected-then MY name will go down on some list and so when I apply again for Spring 2012 they will match up the 2 applications and I won't be allowed an interview.
MY APPLICATION WILL GO IN THE GARBAGE AND I WILL FEEL LIKE GARBAGE.
So who makes this decision-GEPIK,THE RECRUITERS OR THE SCHOOL OR ALL 3 TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Natasha from Cork! |

Very childish response above to someone who just wants to ask a question. Another cyber jerk who gets off with silly responses to compensate. Obviously living a sad life
To the OP, technically GEPIK can if your application does not meet their minimum requrements. If you pass that, the individual schools decide on accepting you.
The recruiter wants to get paid so they want you to get accepted HOWEVER I have known instances where they will say you were rejected (not true) in order to fill a place somewhere else. For instance, they want you to go to a hard to fill EPIK school somewhere and lie that GEPIK did not take you. |

Thing is, this is like the third thread started by the op asking essentially the same question. She's already gotten quite a few informed responses. Conclusion: welcome to the ambiguities of Korean efl hiring.
My best advice to the op (kindly meant): stop tying yourself in anxious knots over hypotheticals. Weigh the advice you've already been given. Choose when you really mean to start. Apply accordingly.
Getting a job here isnt brain surgery. Many thousands have gone before. |

GEPIK and EPIK are different agencies and use different recruiters. And it's not GEPIK/EPIK as such who rejects...it's the local superintendent. |

Sirius black's ma is a superintendent?
Anyway, he said:

I don't think it needs to go to a superintendent "if your application does not meet their minimum requrements"
If you interview with the school and they don't want you, then they can decide. Until then SMOE, GEPIK, or EPIK (among the other private groups) would have the choice.
The minions are probably instructed to sift through and find local teachers before a superintendent ever sees a pile of applications. |
