I'm kinda amused that this is even an issue given how many f-bombs, n-words, and any number of vulgarities there are in the American rap songs they have playing in the background of these shows.
-------------------------------------------------
Currently KBSs popular show 1 Night 2 Days is under fire for a swearing/profanity incident. For the episode that was broadcast on June 3rd, Kang Ho Dong, Lee Seung Ki, Uhm Tae Woong, Eun Ji Won, Lee Soo Geun, and Kim Jong Min were playing games in order to gain a watermelon. They were playing different games when a Korean profanity was heard. (It is unknown whether it was one of the members, or somebody from the staff. The viewers of the show heard the profanity and are currently bringing this up as controversial).
The show filmed as an all-nighter because the members had chosen this instead of performing a mission.
Netizens have commented, Is this because they were filming all night? They should be more careful on television.
According to BNT News, the production team of 1 Night 2 Days has denied this saying that the viewers were mistaken. |

Yes, there is lots of (bad) rap which is (over) played here.
You forgot to mention all the gangster movies, junk chick flicks and B-lists that are played repeatedly, and all contain profanity just to sound 'cool'.
But they will blurr over a cigarette or a stab wound because that's the true source of evil!
Was it played live or was the editor sleeping? That should be the true question. The media industry is pathetically lazy. |

The best example I saw of this was last weekend. It was maybe 4pm on a Saturday and Kung Fu Panda was playing (can't remember the station -- super action or something) and the PREVIEWS they played for another movie during commercials were peppered with F-bombs. It was some John Travolta movie and it was like the clip editor specifically looked for scenes with dudes shouting [Mod Edit] and [Mod Edit].
During Kung Fu Panda.
On a Saturday afternoon. |
