Hi pub goers,
I'm planning on opening a pub in Korea around Seoul. It'll have your western sports, music, food, drinks etc. You know the type. Where would you open a bar? If you are living in the cities listed in the pole drop a comment if you think your city could really use this type of bar. Me and my partner are open to most cities with the criteria being success. I've worked in bars/restaurants for 8 years so this'll definitely be an active run place, getting involved in western community activites, sports team sponsorships, etc.
Cheers!

The Anyang Station area could probably use a Western place. Pyeongchon/Beomgye are fairly saturated with Happidus and Dugout. I live in Sanbon (Gunpo), and there isn't a truly Western bar here, though there are a crapton of foreigners. It might be an area to consider, and the rents are a bit cheaper than in Anyang proper, per my understanding, due to it being slightly farther away on the subway. PM me and I could show you your potential competition sometime.

I would say do it in Itaewon and enjoy the clientele. But for selfish reasons I'd much rather see your place as close as the nearest bus stop to me.

Travelers is in seohyun and a geckos is near dankook but it is on the other side of the university from me. so yeah open a bar right on the corner of my apartment complex and hire me.

Yongin near Bundang.

Considering there are hundreds if not thousands of different products one could import or export. A myriad of different types of service industries. Why is it that when someone has a business idea here in Korea, invariably its a bar. Best of luck by the way.

True enough, but we don't have experience in importing/exporting and I think opening a bar is fun as well as profitable. And since thats where my experience is I can do it well. Smile

Itaewon is the place most people think of, but we want to be outside of Seoul.

I don't have enough know how to really make an educated suggestion on location but all I will say is that a well-run pub rarely loses money, so good luck!
