|
|
| My son's birthday is coming up, and I really, REALLY want to buy him a Flash action figure. Unfortunately, Flash is not exactly the most popular superhero in the DC Universe, and I can't find anything outside of paying 30 bucks for shipping from the States. I'm hoping that there's some kind of shop in Korea that caters to toy collectors and American comic buffs. Any leads would be appreciated. |

In 10 years here, I've yet to find anything really good in toy assortment.
You can check out ToyRUs. I've seen a few action figures and the like there. |

| I saw a shop in yongsan, not the main complex, across the road in the basement arcade where all the xbox/ps/wii games are, at the back there's a shop full of various figures, if your close it's worth a look but I wouldn't go miles out of my way, there's also another shop up the ramp from the movie theatre, they had lots of that sort of stuff. |

Totally forgot how many Chinese sellers there are on eBay. Thanks for that recommendation, Scott; my kid's getting a Flash and a Superman.
Thanks for the lead on the shop, too, bob. I'll have to get over to Yongsan someday. |

1. That shop is cool and it's right at the rear entrance/exit.
2. They probably won't have a Flash figure though. They leaned kinda heavily towards anime with some sci-fi like Star Wars. It's really hit or miss there. A lot of the stuff they have looks like overstock that never sold anywhere else. Which actually makes it more interesting to look at.
3. I wouldn't consider them particularly cheap, especially for American stuff. But I guess I am spoiled by U.S. prices. |

Most of the stores in Yongsan have Japanese characters, not the Marvel or DC superhero types. Plus, even if they did, the markup would be HUGE.
I'm into collecting figurines but I saw this one figurine of Mr. Bean (I'm a huge fan) for 290,000 won. |
