Hey,

I've a weeks vacation at the end of this month and I'm just wondering where the best places are to visit in Korea? I personally love islands, beaches and natural scenery. As it'll be my real first trip out of Gyeonggi, I'm hoping to make it a memorable one. Would love some suggestions, cheers.

I'd say you head down to the south coast and check out some of those islands. I've been to Geomundo (reached by ferry from Yeosu) and Namhae (just east of Yeosu) and thought they were both great. I'm pretty sure that if you like islands, beaches and scenery, it would be hard to go wrong going to any of those islands down there.

Jeju Island (if you can manage to get a plane ticket, that is!)

Samseong-gung, down south near Hadong. Jinju is the best jumping-off place. it's awesome, looks unlike anything else in Korea. it's in Jirisan national park and near Namhae, so plenty of outdoorsy mountain/beach type stuff around.

I've heard great things about Geomundo and Bijin-do, maybe try checking them out.

If you're looking for a town, Sokcho and Gyeongju are both beautiful imo.

Hope that helps a bit!

Tom
