Computer crashed, and no one has a copy of windows. I live in Yesan and believe it or not, no one around here knows of a comp. repair shop. If I download windows 7 or windows xp, and burn it to a disk, will it be easy for me to install it? My skills are bad.
Please no jokes. Thanks. |

Keep in mind that your CD key you have now will only work with the same version of Windows. So whatever version you have now you will have to download the exact same one. Unless you want to pirate the OS...
Yes, you can burn Windows onto a blank DVD and run it just like normal. Just make sure whatever burning software you are using, choose the "Bootable CD" option when you are burning the OS. |

Unreal. Some oe told me where a repair shop was. Seems the hard drive crashed (not sure exactly what the guy said) but after one day and 30,000 won, it was fixed. I gave him an extra 10. He did not want to take it, but I said thanks. it took him about 4 hours to do. AND he even delivered it to me cause it was pouring for days. In the good old U.S.A I doubt if I could have had it fixed. And the power cord was broken. Message kept saying to plug in the power. I brought that in also and he tested it and said it was broken. Cost 15,000 total.
He said that the computer really is not good and it should last about 3 or 4 months, but that is fine with me. I will be back home at the end of September, and as long as the comp. lasts me till I get home it is fine.

Similar experience. Korean computer repair shops rawk for technodolts.
I've dropped off my dead machine before & they've cleaned it all up -- wiped & reinstalled all its systems, went to the trouble of finding windows in english from another shop, vacuumed out all the cat fur, tossed in an extra couple of spendy programs. Up & running again: 20000 won. |
