If you're a Canadian and you work in Korea all your life, can you ever contribute to an RRSP so you can make tax-free compounded stock market gains? Or is that not an option since you don't earn in Canada? Are there similar accounts in Korea? |

Can you open and/or use the account =
a) NO, NOT if you are either "non-resident" or "deemed non-resident" for tax purposes. RRSP is a tax department creation.
b) YES, IF you are "resident" or "deemed resident" for (Canadian) tax purposes.
Can you contribute to a fund of your own (outside of Canada) and be free from Canadian taxes = yes.
