Although she was defeated in a playoff by another talented - but less pretty - young Korean (So Yeon Ryu), fashion-designer/golfer Hee Kyung Seo seemed to captivate the announcers and much of the gallery at the LPGA's premier event with her combination of looks, personality and golfing prowess.

A large Korean flag displayed by fans was also featured in the background coverage of the U.S. (Korea) Open....

(Btw, Michelle Wie gave a lackluster performance as usual and finished 18 shots behind - maybe she should transfer from Stanford to Seoul University...)

amusing, but don't blame the Koreans.

women's professional sports in general are a complete financial disaster.
the NBA is absolutely HEMORRHAGING money on the WNBA. It's one of the reasons for the current lockout.

the truth, is nobody cares about women's sports, certainly not sufficiently enough for them to be financially profitable. The only exception would be women's tennis because we like watching often attractive young women running around in minis.. and the men's game is so fast, the women's game may actually be more watcheable and enjoyable.

and golf isn't even a sport. It's a leisure activity.

I basically agree that women's sports in general lack mass spectator appeal - other than tennis, figure-skating, beach volleyball - and anything else that features attractive women in skimpy outfits (like WWE "Divas"...)

The main exceptions to that are major international events, including the Olympics and World Cup, where "national pride" is supposedly at stake. The current U.S. women's soccer team - trying to maintain a tradition of success - has attracted a lot of attention with its recent great effort against Brazil on the World Cup stage (though I don't think the women's World Cup is as prestigious as the men's).

All things considered, I personally think that Hee Kyung Seo is more attractive than Hope Solo...

its the Dana Kapatrick or Maria Sharapova, there not supermodels but being good or in Dana's case, being in a male dominated sport, gives her sex appeal

Maria isn't all that attractive but to me, she is a MUCH better tennis player than say Anna Kournikova who is very attractive but pretty much suck at her craft

There are rare cases when a women is both extremely attractive and excels in her sport

Anything that you ride a motorized vehicle/leisurely walk 80% of the time shouldn't really be considered sport. I will agree to this. No offense.

Regarding Hope Solo, she is pretty hot, not amazing, but hot.

Yes compared to Hee, she is a goddess.

I used to play all the time when I was younger in the states. I still do not consider it an official sport. There is hardly any physical exertion.
