Can anyone reccomend a notary in London where I can get a notorized company of my degree and how much it will cost? I've looked on-line and its difficult to find out about costs and how long it takes etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Take it to your lawyer or solicitor and ask him to sign and stamp.

I don't have a a "lawyer" or solicitor hence why I am asking this question on the board.

Go to ANY solicitor and ask them to certify your documents as genuine, then send them to Milton Keynes for the apostille from the Foreign Office.

The Solicitor shouldn't charge more than 8 for each document.

Most places charge between a fiver and 10 pound. OP, you will find a few that try to vastly overcharge you.

I am well aware of how solicitors like to over-charge which is why I was asking for some reccomendations of particular services I could use. Unfortunatly, it seems that I have only received information that I already know. I can use a Yellow Pages and I could spend my time ringing several solicitors to be told they want to charge me 50 but stupidly I thought I might save more money and time asking here.

I previously tried to get documents certified for a CRB check and the prices they quoted were a joke. In the end I went to the university to show my ID in person.

It depends, if you're phoning solicitors asking for a Public Notary, you will get told fees of 50+. A Public Notary in the UK is a highly qualified and expert service.

Confusion stems for the fact 'Notary' is the word Americans use for 'solicitor' in the case of professionals who certify documents as genuine.

You don't need a Notary (50+ per document), you just need a solicitor (5).

Las time I called solicitors they wanted to charge me 25 per document(not in London mind you). I just told them I need my documents(passport and some other ID) notarized for a CRB check. What am I supposed to ask for when I call so I don't get asked for 50?
