As the title says, can anyone point me in the right direction? I need to move by next week and am having a hard time finding anything that matches what I have in terms of money. Here's what I have/am willing to throw down:
Key Money: 0 - 3mil
Monthly: 500k - 800k
I heard there were several other places near Seocho-gu (SNU-Education) as well that didn't need key money deposit so if someone can help me get there, it would be great as well.
Thanks for reading |

The places I've spied are higher than the money you're mentioning.... much higher. |

Yeah, I've seen the smaller places going for 100,000,000 won deposit PLUS a monthly.
Gangnam is not the place to find cheap housing. |

Obviously you can find places that cost 100M plus monthly fees, but those generally aren't for just one person. I used to live in Gangnam and paid about 400,000 with a 500,000 deposit but shared with someone else. Makes a big difference if you can do that. Honestly, from what I've seen is that most places will start at 5Mil for the deposit. Otherwise, you can do a short term (단기임대). I've got a few buddies that did that and it's one month's rent as deposit. The prices are usually 750,000-1,500,000/month. Keep in mind that most real estate people don't speak English. Also, real estate commission fees will run you about 300,000. If it is more, they are probably ripping you off. nearsubway.com has a few brokers that are "bi-lingual" and can help you out. They will probably charge you 100,000 or so more for commission for helping you out. -Good luck[/quote] |

There are lots of places--one room type places though. Anything bigger would be out of reach, but for 800/month you could get a new/newish one room apt. Friends of mine have lived between Hanti and Seolleung on the Bundang line, behind the Gangnam Lotte Department store. It's a huge area of low-rise buildings, mostly one-room apts. Walk around a bit, drop in at Budongsans (real estate agencies) and see if any of them speak English. There are hundreds of shops, you might get one fairly quickly, it being Gangnam. |

Thanks. Found a few that were in my price range surprisingly. Just had to get a Korean-native to work her magic on the budongsans |
