...is dead at 93.

Mrs. Ford was quite a shock back in the early 70's when she admitted her kids might have smoked dope and were probably not celibate. Then she went into rehab herself.

Her candor was refreshing and she used her position to point to current social issues. I know she scandalized some people who thought first ladies should not act like she did, but I always liked and enjoyed her. In my opinion, she served her country well.

RIP

I'm hardly the most patriotic of people but I think her death is certainly newsworthy.

I feel sorry for On the other hand, he's usually this forum's obituary but you beat him to it.

There are no other sources of this news?

I believe the OP is just making himself feel good by this post - and it is not the first time I have seen him do this.

Why shouldn't he make himself feel good? Is there something wrong with that?

Does every post on the current events forum have to be totally earth-shattering news?

Yatta Notta shows restraint. I have been trying to get a rise out of him for years after his silly posts on the JFK threads.

Why don't you come back over there, Yatta, and tell me why two women saw a man who looked like Oswald come to their door a couple months before the assassination when your coveted Warren Commission had Oswald in Mexico City trying to get a Cuban visa!

So you're going to derail this thread just to get back at him over some prior posts that you didn't like?

Betty Ford did some good things with her life, I wouldn't say that no one cares about it. It's not like we're talking about the Jackass guy who died recently.
