AFAIK, there's no phone number for English assistance. There is, though, an English website. You can post your issue on the Customer Service "Remarks & Complaints" board and you should get an answer there in English.

Perhaps someone here could help you, if you don't mind stating the issue.

I've totally given up on the post office here. I speak Korean fluently, typed my address in Korean and had my mom print it out and use it for the send address...for two books that I need for school. Also told her not to put anything (not even a letter) inside and to write "Books" clearly on the package.

She sent them started last December (2010!!). The US post office said that it would take about 3 months. It's now July and the two books are no where to be seen. Registration number is apparently horrible here...they don't even know how to look up the 등기번호 tracking number--which I have presented to them twice! I've totally given up at this point.

Through rain, sleet, or snow my a$$.

I dont know who your mother talked to, but it shouldnt even be possible to have a small package shipped by boat to Korea anymore from the US. They probably made it to the coast and then got lost since the shipping is impossible.

The Korean post office is great IMO, cheap, fast and good service even if your Korean isnt great.

To the OP:

What do you need to do? You will most likely not need to use any advanced korean to get a transaction done at the post office. You actually would probably be fine with hand gestures and basic english lol.

Yeah, that's weird. It usually takes me less than 2 weeks to get packages from the US. And that's just regular international mail. 3 months? How did she send it? By land and sea?

Wow! Now that's odd. The Korean post office told me that it would take at least 3 months for the apparent airplane to deliver. Not sure why I was thinking that it must have been a boat that would take three months. If it takes three months, then they surely didn't get your announcement over the cancellation of the boat stuff. The Korean Post Office's "it takes at least 3 or 4 months, depending on how you sent it," is surely a mistake. And well, well you know more than the post office. According to my mom, it should have only taken about a month or so. Thanks for the heads up.Wink

Did you even read what you wrote? This sounds idiotic: "They probably made it to the coast and then got lost since the shipping is impossible." The fact that you wrote it with such robust assertion makes me wonder oddly how your brain works. Shocked
