I'll be leaving soon. Do I have to return my ARC card? Can I keep it?

If you plan on returning to Korea, you should hand it in (at the airport when you leave Korea). If not, keep it.

Why not just "lose" it? I don't see how not turning it in could negatively affect your chances of returning should you want to.

I'm coming back in a few months. What would be the repercussions of not turning it in?

Your wallet got stolen? You left it as collateral at a jimjilbang and they accidentally gave it to some other foreigner?

Imagine losing it, then getting a replacement, and then finding the one you thought you lost.

Even if you were somehow coming back on the same visa I don't see how not turning it in could be an issue.

I lost mine 3 days prior to leaving Korea. When I was leaving they made me pay 80,000 won for not having it to turn it. I argued with the immigrations people until i was blue in the face and they were ready to detain me. Be ready to pay.

I was hoping on keeping it as a souvenir. Not really worth 80,000원 though.
