| I'm going to be marrying soon and my fiancee is wondering if anyone in a similar situation has experienced problems with Immigration after taking their husband's name. 1345 told us how, but weren't clear on the details of what would happen when she renews or transfers her E-2, or gets a new one, if her documents are in her maiden name instead of her married name. |

Get married.
Amend the passport (usually a change on page 3 or 4).
Show it to immigration.
No more problem.
Passport shows both names.
AFTER she gets a new passport (a few years from now) she will need to include her maiden name on her application as well as her married name. No worry.

That's really useful, as I want to change my last name. I just don't want to change my ARC card and all that lot. Thanks, Tom!
EDIT: I just checked the American Embassy website for Seoul, and it says that I'd have to get a new passport. I'll just wait until I move home, I guess. |
