Was accepted to SMOE through EPIK on the 3rd of August,
NoA and contract will arrive via FedEx on the 9th,
Will apply for the visa on Wednesday the 10th.
Takes 5 working days for the VISA, and the following Monday they are closed so I will not have my visa until the 17th.

I'm supposed to be in Seoul on the 17th!

Does anyone have any experience of a similar situation that they could offer some advice.I spoke to the embassy and they told me this was the standard processing time for all people and to contact my employer and they may be able to help get it expedited or arrange an alternative.

Could I lose my place? (guessing not cos anyone else they'd hire would take just as long but still..)
I'll miss the medical on the first day if this happens it be rescheduled?
Anyone in a similar boat?

(i've to wait till Monday till i can contact EPIK about this which is a long time to be in the dark, especially a i thought the whole waiting game was over.)

Keep in touch with EPIK. There was a guy on my orientation who turned up over a week late and only caught the last couple of days. He just has to do orientation again this summer. No harm done really
