The moggies are driving me up a wall. if i spot one, i cant go to sleep until i kill it. The stupid thing always lands on my white walls or ceiling making it extremely convenient to do so. But I dont even know how they get in here? All my windows are locked shut. i have a thoery they are flying into the air conditioner outside and following it right to my room. Then again, theres all kinds of gaps in the windows and my sliding glass door they could be entering that way.
WHEN WILL THEY DIE? WHAT TIME OF YEAR Mad

They don't bother me that much. But check your sink and other drainage. They could come from there too.

by next month you'll have forgotten all about them. they'll be back next year, but in between you'll have had host of other seasonal maladies to have dealt with.

BTW-i got the worst mosquito bites ever on a weekend trip a couple years ago. post pics if you got 'em, but i'm pretty sure mine were worse than yours.

'Eff killah' (애프 키러) from the supermarket might work. Plug it in, wait 15 minutes for it to spread vapours through the room, and sleep undisturbed.

The 애프 키러 killer didn't work for me but some of my co-workers have had success with it. Mosquitoes have been driving me nuts lately, but last night I bought a can of mosquito killer from a pharmacy for 1500 Won and sprayed it on all my window screens, around door frames... basically everywhere, and I didn't have any mossies in the officetel last night. Fingers crossed for tonight!

moggies moggies moggies, God I hate them.
When I first got to Korea I had loads of them in my apartment. I couldn't sleep cuz they'd buzz right in my ear and wake me up. I noticed that the Korean variety is hardier than the American version.. they're harder to kill and faster.

You sir, have an opening in your officetel. I suggest you plug it up the best you can. Search everywhere for an openings cuz I assure you there is one. Unless you have open pots of water lying around where the moggies can lay eggs, they're coming from outside.

Lastly, try homemate plus. You can buy it from any convenience store. You plug it in and it releases some fumes (sidenote: are those safe?) and supposedly the moggies all die off.

Goodluck.

Not really. They will last through even a few quick freezes. You need some good, solid freezes. We're seriously talking late November into December. I had some real problems last year.

It is a somewhat remarkable achievement - most forms of nature have been more or less killed in Seoul except mosquitos.

It's been a major issue and I've tried everything with limited success (posts on crap construction, etc.. are around the site here).

I have one of those electric fly swatters to kill them up until the time I go to bed and then if they're bad I put a floor fan on me to make wearing a light blanket comfortable. I do a shot of pesticide (which I really don't like using but....) in the window areas and under the bed.

For your own sanity - it isn't you that's the problem. It's somewhat absurd that a normal looking apt is essentially a sieve for insects.

I've lived in Central America before - Costa Rica. Arguably they deal worse with the situation here as everyone uses a net in C.A.

If you can find a good one in SE Asia on vacation try to get one. I'd put it up w/o asking permission and apologize later if it's an issue. My landlord is all squeemish about putting anything up on his beloved wall paper.....

I have some of that 50% DEET gel in a silver Boot's pharmacy tube left from my trip to Thailand 2 months ago. Since the weather cooled down, I noticed the mosquitoes are only interested in buzzing in my ears so I have been trying a dab of the DEET gel on my ears which worked well the past several nights. The mosquitoes leave me alone and only fly around the room when my ears are off limits. In the Summer, they bit ankles and feet more than anything, but now it's the warm inviting ear canals they go after. When it gets really cool, they will die and new ones won't come until next year.

I don't have many mosquitoes where I live. I can thank the ajeossi with the the truck that sprays noxious fumes around my neighborhood. So what if I get cancer by 30?
