Let's say that i have a Thai wife and i'm American, could i bring her to Korea to live with me if i teach. Also, could she find any kind of work there? She would have a Thai citizenship, not an American citizenship. |

You can bring your wife. She'll get an F3 visa. You need to provide proof that you're legally married (marriage license). She will NOT be legally allowed to work with this visa. Could she do it anyway? Probably, but be aware that she risks fines and/or deportation if caught.
The only other possibility is if she can find an employer who is willing to sponsor another type of visa for her, but that's unlikely unless she has some special skills or qualifications. What sort of work was she planning to do here anyway? |

Hi,
I have an Asian wife and I confirm chances are she wont be able to legally work here. Doesn't mean she can't get off the record 'voluntary' work. If she is the type who wants to be working she will get very bored here since unless you are in Seoul not much to do. And I don't know if there are many Thais here so can she make friends?

she has a degree in the japanese language and can speak english fluently as well. If there is no way she can work legally here, then i am not sure about Korea. |

Hi,
no she can't, the E@ visa is only for the Native countries, UK, Usa, Canada and the others. Simply she will not get an E2 visa and she will not get any other work visa.
The Korean attitude is simple. they want to protect their own people and the benefits of a native teacher is their appearance. Thais don't have the native look they want here, basically they want the face,
So the Koreans think if they Employ a Thai then they are stopping a Korean from doing a job. It's not about the skills she has, it is all about the country of the passport. Sad but true. If working for her is a big thing then forget Korea. I hear Japan or China is much better for her.

My Thai wife is a stay-at-home mom, but before our son was born she did some volunteer work with a meals on wheels program here. She has a few Thai friends in our small city, but she is pretty bored here. We're headed back to Thailand next year. |

Yeah, I'm sure that Thais have that North American accent they're looking for. |

Yea, if she can't work in Korea, then i believe thailand is the best place for us. I wish you and your wife luck. |
