Where do you go in Korea to get documents Apostillized?

I don't think you can, you have to send to an apostille place www.apostillepros.com or family members in the U.S./U.K. to get them apostille for you.

It's the expedited/rush prices. For instance, FBI background check are done faster by them and degrees/diplomas are done same day they receive it. Some people on this forum don't have family members back at home. Some people can afford it, some can't. The faster you get things process, the faster you get to work etc.

An Apostille is a certification of authenticity given by the Department of State in DC or the Depts of State in one of the 50 states. (if you're a Yank of course).

Thus, you can only get it in the US. Some people have reported that a sworn affidavit from the embassy will suffice but I've heard that is often won't.

You can either pay through the nose to have a service do it for you, or if you have family or friends back home, they can do it.

What you need apostilled can make a big difference in how difficult it is. For example, if the document was issued by the government it can often just be mailed to the State Dept. with a check and be done with. If not, it will have to be notarized, then the notarization needs to be certified by the county clerk. Then it can be sent to the Dept. of State. For my Diploma for example, my University did the whole process for free. For my CBC, since it was already certified by the FBI it just needed to be mailed to the US State Dept. with a check, easy peasy.

I used usauthentication.com. I think a coworker of mine should have used an apostille service too. She sent her FBI check to get an apostille over a month ago. She still hasn't gotten it back yet from D.C. Her ARC will expire soon. She found out that she automatically gets a 30 day tourist extension when her ARC expires. She won't be able to legally work during that time (but who will know?). At least it'll give her another month to get her documents together to renew her visa.

For Canadians, you get your Criminal Records Check notarized at the embassy or consulate if you are currently in Korea.

As far as notarized copies of your degree, I don't know, I'm getting that done by a lawyer in Canada
