Hi all,
I am planning to travel to Seoraksan (Kangwondo) at the end of October, at that time I think the leaves are turning to yellow and red, looks very beautiful.
Does anyone have experience about traveling and where to take photos?
thank you. |

I went on the last weekend of October last year and there wasn't much fall scenery left to see. Early-to-mid October is better.
Here are some suggested routes:

How to get there depends on where you decide to go. Buses go right to the park. I've been there twice but never spent much time taking photos since I didn't have a camera. I will say that the sunrise at the top was well worth it. |

Hi cheolsu, thank you for your information.
I hope I can get there on time for fall scenery. |

It's incredibly crowded even on weekdays from the second week of October. If you go at the end of September and hike to the higher areas you'll get good color and fewer people. |

Thank you for your suggestion, but end of September seems to be too early, now it's just the beginning of Autumn. |

The expected date for peak of red leaves in Seoraksan is 18 oct. |

True, but the color starts at the top and seeps down every day, and Daecheongbong is 1700m--already getting red, I'd wager.
The crowds are truly unbelievable in mid October: no hotels, no motels, lines for trails, closed/full trails, etc. |
