Just started the search today, took a look at Hamilton fitness and thought it was decent and a decent price (480,000 for the year). Couldn't find anywhere else while walking around- are there any other options? Where are they?

There is one on the way up to the Hyatt in kyeongridan area of Itaewon. Don't know any details as to equipment or rates, however.

Yes, there are, but I don't know the longer term rates. I was just at one of them today. On the main street, there's a Petra Restaurant (not to be confused with the other Petra Rest. in Itaewon which isn't on the main street). Right beside Petra is a little alleyway. You walk into that alley and the business right behind Petra is a private gym. I went there once some months ago. I think it was 5,000 won for a one-time visit.

If you continue along that main street going away from the direction of the subway station, there is a place where there is a main street that goes off to the right and goes down the hill. If you walk across that street and then turn right, you can parallel that street that's going down, but stay at the same elevation yourself. You walk along that way. There is an entrance to a pay parking lot with a toll booth. You walk across that parking lot and come to some sort of a community center building. Many people use the elevator in this building simply to avoid the steep climb going down that hill (or up from the other direction). Sometimes I'm one of them. On level B2 in that building, there is a gym. 5,000 won for a single visit. Unlike the best gym in Korea that I recently gave up going to because it's such a long trip now that I've moved, you have to bring your own gym clothes to this gym though I recall that they do give you one towel.

I only know single visit rates because I'm looking for camp work and then another 1-year contract teaching, so I don't want to commit to even as much as 1 month's fee right now.

Also, there's a community center type gym over in Noksapyeong near the subway station. I think I recall that you have to bring your own towel to that one. I think that was 5,000won for a single visit also.

Cheers.
