I read this post about how this forum makes people paranoid about getting busted by immigration. I wondered why and searched this forum on stories about people getting busted and about illegal work. These stories made me laugh so hard. Very Happy
Like Big Brother is out there. I am not even working here (just taking Korean classes) and I am already starting to feel paranoid. So this poll is for all you paranoid people out there.

The most likely reason for getting busted for illegal work is that one is doing illegal work. That is like asking, "How do I avoid getting caught?"

There is no reason to be paranoid if you are doing nothing wrong.

Of course the poll assumes working illegal. I don't think people will get busted when they are not doing illegal things. Assuming that would be paranoia to the extreme. Your question might be interesting too. However, the outcome of this poll will only show the largest pitt falls and not necessarily the ways to avoid them. Unless people post comments related to your question.

I thought I'd make that post before numerous others who think the same thing.

I'd say the most common reason is to have a row with your client over the money, they get ratty it about and phone immigration.

It is also illegal for the client to hire you. Make sure he or she already knows that.

I'd never thought of that.

Actually, I would say most Koreans wouldn't even realize us doing privates is illegal at all. Taking a private foreign language class wouldn't strike me as something illegal in my home country (although I'm sure it is).

The poster is obviously not asking about whether it is right or wrong to be working illegally but on how to avoid the pitfalls and which pitfalls are the most common to fall into.

Indeed Zed.

The poster is asking advice on how to do an illegal thing more efficiently Laughing

He is also asking everyone to tell him how to lessen his anxiety about doing something illegal that has potential legal repercussions.

Yes, it's like someone asking whether the condom or the pill is the more effective form of birth control and having someone tell them that abstinence is more effective. Thanks, Sherlock.

What happened to the avatar Homer?

Does the motive really matter?

Honestly, I think from ALL the stories and people i've known its been the "in and outs" that got em nailed.
