have a pal visiting korea for 11 days, so i ambitiously booked us a pair of ktx tickets down to mokpo with the intention of spending an afternoon and night on an island off of mokpo port (hongdo), a morning in the tea fields at boseong/an afternoon in the folk village at Naganeupseong and the final night and the next morning near Yeosu or Suncheon...
now as the date inches closer, ive found that hongdo ferries run 60,000 won each way and will very likely be booked next week, boseong and naganeupseong are a mission from mokpo, and suncheon really doesnt warrant attention when so short on time.
has anybody done a similar whirlwind three day tour through jeollanam do?
im thinking sticking with boseong and nagan folk village and then somewhere worthwhile nearby may make more sense then jumping off in mokpo...
or should i maybe be less ambitious and instead focus on a whole other province altogether?
any insights would be appreciated! |

Around three years back, a friend and I spent a long weekend in Jeolla-do. We visited Damyang the first day, spending the night in Gwangju, then headed to Yeosu for the second day, before stopping off at Boseong on our way home on the third day. Definitely worth a visit.
This time around I'm off to Gyeongsangnamdo. First stop Geojedo, then Tongyeoung, and then probably Jinju and Hadong before heading home. I've figured 4/5 days should be enough time to see most of the things I want. |
