|
|
I received an offer from EPIK to start on Aug 26th in a rural area and already sent them my FBI check. I'm leaning toward changing my mind, however, about taking the position because I want to hold out for a position closer to Seoul. The FBI check I sent them was my only one, and of course, it will take months to get a new one. My visa expires on Sept 1st.
Has anyone been in this position? Any idea on whether EPIK would return my FBI check and how quickly they'd get it back to me if the did back out of the agreement? Am I being a douche by backing out of the position? Will this blacklist me for any future EPIK positions?
The job is in Jeolla province. I've heard good things about it but it's 3 hours from Seoul. I have a gig in Seoul on Sundays that I don't want to give up so being within an hour of Seoul is pretty important to me.
Any thoughts and advice on my options with EPIK and immigration? If the already sent the FBI check to immigration can I just have the new school contact immigration?
Thanks in advance |

You're taking a risk by asking for your FBI check back. You should have asked for two FBI checks in that case. They may refuse you, and, then, you would possibly be without any job in Korea. That's the problem. |
