Hi everyone,

I decided in May to apply to teach abroad in Korea. Unfortunately, the majority of the recruiting programs I've found ended their yearly applications in mid-April. However, I did find one that seems to take applications biannually.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience going through Greenheart and, if so, how their experiences were. I did a quick search on the forums but there were no solid/informative hits. Hope someone have gone through them to teach abroad since then. Many thanks in advance.

Best,
Aaron

That is a recruiting company.
They introduce you to schools and collect 'finder fee'.

You don't have much security with them, no more than with any other thousands of recruiters that work the esl market.

write a short resume and put it up on the dave's job board.
You'll get a call back from recruiters desperate to place you.

GreenHeart is a cultural exchange program in America, offering TEFL opportunities in several countries including South Korea. They look similar to CIEE and Intrax.

These type of cultural exchange program providers seem to be redundant in South Korea, where is much demand for teachers, an EPIK program, and many recruiters wanting to match jobs and teachers for no cost to the teacher.

In other countries where it is more difficult to land a job from overseas (such as Chile, Peru or Spain), the GreenHeart/CIEE/Intrax-es of the world have more to offer (for a fee).

So these outfits are not worthless, but they do seem unnecessary in South Korea.
