I'll be taking a vacation to Korea starting August 23rd and lasting three weeks. The biggest thing I want to accomplish would be getting my F4 visa and then doing some sight seeing. Here is the list I have so far. I lived in Korea 15 years ago, so I'm sure much has changed. If anyone wants to meet up just let me know! I would love to visit someone teaching at a Hagwon, so I can see how a typical work day is. Anyone know if I can apply for jobs online in Korea and meet the employer online or should I start now before I get there? Thanks

I don't really see the point of going to the electronics market unless there's something you need.
The Han is cool, as it's mostly lined with parks (Yeouido is kind of the best, but also the most crowded).
I'm a big fan of Times Square Mall in Yeongdeongpo. True, it is just a mall, but the architecture is awesome and it's got the largest movie screen in the world. |

| Make sure you include a trip to the DMZ with the USO while you're in South Korea. The USO is next door to Yongsan military base in Seoul. |

I did the DMZ tour on a class field trip when I was a teenager. Any other can't miss sites? I was thinking about taking the KTX down to Busan and spending a few days in the southern part of Korea, but looking on Expedia it appears all hotels are booked up for months, which seems odd to me.[/i] |

expedia is the LAST site I would use to find a hotel in Korea.
they are all booked cause expedia can't sell them.

There are plenty of nice motels for cheaper than what you'll find on Expedia. |

expedia is the LAST site I would use to find a hotel in Korea.
they are all booked cause expedia can't sell them.

Any suggestions? Figured if there was a site online it would be cheaper to book in advance. Seoul has tons of hotels on expedia, figured it would be the same. |

As far as I can tell, any motel in Korea is a love motel. In Busan, however, they're used by tourists quite a bit. They're plenty nice, usually small windows but clean and well appointed. Whatever you book online will likely be double the price for the same or lesser quality. |

Some can be a bit sleazy, most aren't. My mom travels for work and generally stays in four star hotels, yet she was quite happy with the upscale love motel she stayed in when she visited Korea. A nicer love motel is no more sleazy than a mid-range Korean hotel, IMO. |

| Agreed on Times Square; I would skip Lotte World, though. Seeing as you're old enough to have found this site and know what Expedia is, you're probably too old for the best of Lotte World. |

I would not consider myself too old for a theme park. Are the rides for young kids? |
