Hello.
My best friend recently graduated with a Masters in Business, specializing in Human Resource Management from the University of Amsterdam. She would really like to obtain a job here in Seoul using her degree and area she studied.
Can anyone offer any insight on the best way to go about finding a job that is not an english teaching job. Are there recruiters for this type of thing, any forums i could check, etc...
Feel free to PM me if you have any information. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. |

For a business, non-English teaching job, I would seriously look into becoming fluent in Korean. |

She has studied for 8 months when she lived here before. She is by no means fluent, but has a good understanding. |

Look for the headhunter advertisement that usually runs in the Korea Times or K-Herald.
Otherwise she is pretty much on her own and there WILL be visa issues (assuming is is Dutch and not English). (the good think is that Koreans like the Dutch - just show a family link to Gus Hiddink and she is good as gold)

Thanks for the info.
It looks like I left out a piece of information. She is actually from the states.
Thanks again. |

If she is looking for a job in HR in a Korean company, it would be extremely difficult.
For a start to entire concept of a HR team is still in its infancy in Korea and many companies don't even have a specialisted HR team (just some HR style tasks as part of the admin team).
And the recruitment side of HR would definitely require advanced Korean skills and i have never seen a non-Korean person in that role.
If they are determined to come to Korea maybe trying to find a job outside of their specialism might be the only option. |

Seems like there are more experienced people looking for the same things but it sounds like she needs much more Korean language skills, and specifically targeted for business. |
