We rescued this little guy from our kindergarten where he was in a plastic box with no natural light anywhere nearby, getting tapped on by kids all day and not being fed properly. After a month he was sickly, gray-green and totally unresponsive to his surroundings. Our director made some some comment about him pooping a lot and said we could take him home. Since then, we've been working really hard to take care of him and make him happy and healthy. He doesn't live in a cage in our apartment. Instead we've built a series of platforms in a corner where he spends most of his time. He has a hot rock and UV light in the corner with his food dish. We feed him fresh veggies - mostly various kinds of leafy greens. His coloring has changed to a super-bright, vibrant green and he's nearly doubled in size since February. He is also alert, active and reactive, a complete 180 from when we got him. Often, we come home and find him trying to blend into the house plants. He's not really handleable at all - we don't really try. He's only in the last month or two stopped skittering away as soon as we get near him. I think with time he could be more comfortable being picked up.
