It's been available in the US for over a month! I don't see any signs of it here though - the country that made the damn thing! Rolling Eyes

all their stock of the 10.1 is going over to major markets to take advantage of the tab being the hot new player on the block, that it is sexier (read: thinner) than the ipad2, as well as the major shortages apple is facing due to their foxconn plant explosion in china.

unfortunately for you people are clamoring over themselves to get tablets in good ol' us of a but not so much here.

however, we did get the galaxy sII wunderfone many moons before america who still haven't been given an exact date for most carriers.

If I were you, I'd forget the Samsung Galaxy Tab and get Asus Transformer. It comes with keyboard/dock/extra battery. I'm waiting for the 3G version to arrive to the market, because the WiFi only is not an option for me.

PS. I'm not in Korea, but I suppose the ASUS Tansformer can be bought from danawa.co.kr

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is FINALLY out in korea and is ridiculously priced at 766,000 won for the 32gb model Shocked . It's more expensive than the ipad 2! In the US, the 32gb Galaxy Tab 10.1 is going for $599. Rolling Eyes

Way to screw the consumers of Korea Samsung, you POS company.

Well, I played with one at Best Buy in the USA, and it was the ONLY model on the floor that would do Flash correctly. Lots of other tablets available, but for whatever reason (some due to updates and whatnot) the Flash wasn't working.

Just did the math after taxes and that comes out to 680,000 won. Major screwed, espcially when it's made here.

Once again, the Korean consumer will subsidize the profits of the Korean Chaebol. Yet, no-one seems to care.

I just took the price hit and purchased a Galaxy Tablet 32gb model today. It's due to be here on Wednesday. I'll post a review.

I saw an Asus something tablet for sale above Yongsan station today. Maybe 3rd floor or 4th? It might have been that tablet with the doc. Price was expensive. Just saw it at one store.

My wife and I were debating on whether to buy the ipad 2 or the galaxy tab. We went with the galaxy tab because we were able to get immediate access (no wailtlist) to the galaxy tab through a 'friend of a friend' who works for samsung. He was able to snag us a 32gb model for 730,000 won, which is a great deal.

I own a Ipod Touch, so I have some familiarity withy the iOS enviornment of Apple products. After spending over a week with the Galaxy Tab, here is my opinion about the Galaxy Tab.

PROS:
-Great hardware (incredibly bright clear screen, and awesome speakers with great loud audio)
-Excellent integration with google email /apps. If you like google apps, this thing will allow you use all of the apps / services very easily, smoothly.
-Customizable. Honeycomb is much better than iOS in letting the user change wallpapers, backgrounds, widgets, apps, etc. The settings option on the Tab gives the user so much more control than what's available with apple.
-File Support. I dumped a number of different types of video, audio, etc files and the only one the Tab didn't recognize was an .mkv video file.
-Looks. The tab is light, sleek and looks beautiful. I love the way people gawk at it in the coffee shop.

CONS:
-Podcasts. I'm a big user of podcasts and I like the way itunes seamlessly downloads and transfers podcasts to my ipod. The galaxy tab has an app called Beyond Pod that does podcast just as well though and you don't need to connect to your PC to transfer the podcasts.
-Lack of accessories. I have checked all retail outlets yet, but it seems like the accessories for the Tab aren't out there yet. I'm hoping that will change in time.
-Apps. While there are a ton of Android apps out there. It's hard to get quality apps into the tablet. Alot of apps just seem to fail loading into the tablet. Also, seems like there's a different android app store for the US that can't be accessed from here in Korea.

Overall, I'm glad we went with the Galaxy Tab.

If Apple wins an injunction to stop Samsung selling the tab in Korea - as they have done in Germany - I bet there will be major backlash against Apple. I suspect that even the Apple-loving Koreans will back their boy in this fight.

I don't think Apple could possibly win such an injunction here. After all, Korea is really "Republic of Samsung".

With that said, I would love for it to happen because of the lulz. There would be death threats against the judge(s) who approved the injunction, candlelight vigils, crazy guys stabbing themselves, other crazy guys killing chickens in protest...let's keep our fingers crossed!

Personally, being the big anti-corporate anarchist that I am Laughing , I hope both Samsung and Apple get tied up in very costly legal battles that drain their profits.
