|
|
EDIT: In the end, Groove stuck to their word. I got my prize.
So I sent in a pretty hilarious Konglish entry ("Let's Patry Time" "My name is Ass" June 2011) and I was never contacted by them but my submission was chosen and published as the winner. The magazine promises $50 in food and entertainment vouchers.
So, I learned that I won by picking up the magazine, and I was pretty happy. I then emailed them my address and thanked them for picking me (this was mid may early june.) I got a reply message that was empty, but it was CC'd to [email protected] OK, I email this guy directly, nothing, a month goes by. Then at the start of July I send another message, finally he says he got my message and tells me my prize is in the mail that week. Well that was a month ago. I just emailed him telling him that I assumed he was blowing me off.
I thought I'd share this story here because maybe some groove people read this. I just want my prize. This site gets lots of traffic so do the right thing and everybody here will see that you guys are not, in fact, blowing me off, but are just busy people and I got lost in the shuffle. Thanks!

lol @ you getting so bent out of shape over $50. the guy isn't paying up. either show up to his office and demand the money or move on with your life. whining about it here won't magically deliver that free box of twotwo's chicken to your doorstep. and using a post on dave's as some sort of imaginary bargaining chip on your part is petty and borderline pathetic. |

Now come on. Obviously this is a dick move - the OP took the time to respond to the offer, and the honorable thing to do would be to reward his efforts, as promised.
I mean, I hardly think you're going to sue them over $50, or even put up a big fight, but really - man up, Groove. |

I'm pretty sure they don't have an actual office. |

Matthew Lamers is an expat who writes stories for the Korean Herald. ([email protected])
I doubt he will give you anything, because he came across as a creep to me. |

If true, I'm glad he's calling them out. They need to fulfill their commitments. |
