Hi room..first time here. great website. I work here in the Czech Republic as an English teacher and an actor/model but I'm thinking of trying this work over in Korea. I have quite a bit of experience with acting and a resume and was wondering if anyone knows about a foreigner (American) doing this work over there. .thanks for your help... |

I'm sure there's a need for non-Korean actors and models in Korea. You should be careful, though. A teaching visa probably won't cover acting or modeling gigs, making professional acting and modeling illegal.
Most smaller gigs would probably pay you under the table, anyways, so that's probably not a major concern. Nevertheless, I'm sure that Immigration would be pissed if they ever found out, so you should exercise caution. |

You won't be finding (legal) work as a teacher (E2) without a degree.
You can't legally work in entertainment (acting/modeling) without prior permission from immigration if you are on an E2 (application to participate in activities outside of those permitted by your status of sojourn).
You MAY find work as an Artistic performer (E6) but you need to find the job before you fly to Korea and you will need to show proof of experience in the field before the visa is granted (along with a bunch of other hoops).
