I'm arriving in Korea this Thursday, and while I'll open up an account with KEB pretty soon after I get there I'll need some money for the bus from the airport and petty cash. Is it better to exchange a few $100s in a US airport into won, or do it at Incheon?

Ordering money from a US bank is not feasible now given the time contraints, so it's really do it in the US airport or Incheon.

Change it when you get here. It's never worth it to buy or sell ₩ outside the country.

It literally could not be easier to change money at Incheon. You've got at least 10 or 15 banks there set up for exactly that, and they all speak excellent English. I was worried about this but it is one of the many, many exceptional aspects of airport design and structure at Incheon that will blow anything you've seen in the West out of the water.

Yep, piece of cake. Do it on arrival. Standard bank rates, nothing chancy, & cute friendly tellers.

I love the fact that I can go to either of my banks and withdraw directly from my account into whatever currency I please.
