I'd go for a 13 inch ultraportable with the fastest processor I could afford. Netboks are really to slow for my needs. |

Netbooks stink.
Go the notebook route.
In all seriousness, consider a cheaper one with a Celeron processor and enough Ram. They're speedy enough. |

Ordered a 10.1 inch HP network for my wife through Ebay and had to pay about 40,000 won taxes on it, still ended up being better and cheaper (with proper english Windows 7) than any netbook on the market here. I would say go for a 10" screen or a 15" screen and don't bother with the in-between.
I'm impressed with the performance:price ratio considering its size, but I bought myself a 17" Laptop as a desktop replacement mostly because I get eyestrain looking at smaller monitors. |

What do you want to do with the computer? If you know what you need it for, then that's gonna help you know what to look for. That's if you do need one.

Does it mean that you still haven't bought anything yet? You already asked about which netbook to get ... a little over a year ago. No offense, but it takes you long to make up your mind. |

I will use it as a secondary computer, also, in the classroom for PPT, streaming video clips (some HD, some not HD). And for the other things - coffeeshops, on planes, vacation, etc. |

As a second computer a netbook will be fine. Just make sure that the one you get has an HD compatible chip inside it.
You could consider the macbook air. That's almost small enough to be a netbook. |

I have an Eee PC 1000HD, and I have to say that it is definitely not powerful enough to stream HD clips. In fact, I can hardly stream clips on SD TV shows without some pretty noticeable slowdown. Maybe the netbook you get will be more powerful, but it's something to keep in mind. |
