I've been living here for almost 2 years now and like it. There are quite a few foreigners living in the area.
It is mainly a villa neighbourhood so not many apartments. Which is good in my books. Very down to earth area with lots of street vendors and cheap supermarkets.
There is a Lotteria, 3 Dunkin Donuts, Popeyes, Starbucks, Vips, Outback, Krispy Kreme around the station.
Isu Station is just 10-15 min walk away and you will find a movie theater, a newly opened E-mart and a department store there.
The area is mostly flat so no uphill climbing.
Easy to get anywhere in the city thanks to the 2 subway lines here. Itaewon is 30 min away from my door and Gangnam is 20. |

Umyeongsan and Gwanaksan are at your doorstep. Wonderful hiking if you are into that (or running). It's about 3+ hours return to the temple up top and a great way to "get away".
Head out into Gyeonggido - it's easy. Probably the best thing about Sadang is that you have a plethora of bus options to anywhere south of Seoul. It's just a continual stream of buses dropping off and going out...
Just ask around about mudslides though....

You're also within walking distance of SNU, which has a good selection of restaurants and some bars, and very close to Kangnam. |
