Would I be laughed at if I picked up 10 won coins from the sidewalk/street? Would it be "beneath" a teacher to do that?

I'm willing to hurl 10 won coins to you from the top of a building if that's your bag.

I know people who throw 100 won coins on the street and give standing ovations to everyone who picks them up. Drinking beer while they wait (there's no other way to think that's funny).

Don't pick it up. It might be a setup.

True story: I once picked up a coin (about $1) from the floor in a department store. While doing this, something slipped from my shirt pocket that was worth about 20 times as much. Now I only go for notes and cards.

Yes, 10 won is real money.

Also, always ask for a light when you can. Saves on lighter fluid.

Be careful though. People sometimes glue coins to the ground at their bus stops and watch as people try to pick them up. They get a sick thrill out of it. Especially since they can do it every morning when I catch the bus.

I always pick up pennies and drop them into a donation boxes at the nearest convinient stores. Pennies will go a long way to feed hungry kids in Africa.

You do know the whole "lucky penny" thing was invented so that people actually bother to pick up pennies, right? Cool

There's a reason people take off their shoes when entering their homes. To willingly grab something on the ground is not advised. You then rub your eyes and nose.

Uh, next time anyone passes by 3 Alley Pub, have a look at the mat that covers the sewer in front of its little verandah. Take note of how disgusting it looks even from a distance and imagine the gallons of spittle and whatever that must have soaked into its fabric. Here comes the story:

A drunk friend of mine (I only have those) recently noticed that the mat was a bit askew and the sewer smell was coming out of the drains. He then grabbed the mat (to the horror of everybody) with both hands and pulled it back ofer the opening (he'd been asking about its purpose before that).

The turned around, found the person with the most disgusted look on his face, and wiped off his hands on that fellow's jeans.

Hilarity ensued.

Do not pick up things you see on the ground here!
