There are a bunch of us heading to Daegu this weekend for the Championshps.
Of course the accomodation situation will be difficult for saturday night.
Can anyone living in Daegu recommend a good neighbourhood with lots of Motels that is a bit off the beaten track but still not too far from a downtown area and subway stop?
I am assuming that all the ones near the bus station and in the middle of downtown areas will be full.
And as a plan B if anyone knows of a good jimjillbang that would also be appeciated. |

Personally, I might go to the stadium for a day just for nostalgia but I'll watch it on my TV or by torrent.
There are tourist information kiosks at Daegu Station and downtown a few meters from the central Daebec Department Store.
While downtown, you'll actually see the starting lanes of the marathon.
On lodging, I'd forego the jimjilbang route as they are often quite noisy.
As you've been in Korea for awhile, all you have to do is look around.
The cheaper ones downtown would be behind the YMCA side of Banwoldong, around the "China Street". These can be iffy, however.
Since, I take it, you already know the 'lay of the land' then you'll be okay. |

there are a few near beomo station which are much closer to downtown. not too much of a 'motel' neighbourhood, but there are quite a few so you should be okay. |
