I wanted to share my experiences with EG Dental Clinic over on Gangnam near Dr Fish.
Last year I needed to have a fair amount of dental work done--I went in for a teeth cleaning and found out that I had several cavities and needed 7 fillings and 5 inlays as well as a night guard.
Originally I went in there because I worked in that same office building. I was concerned because I was told by other people that Gangnam was super expensive for dental work, but I called around and found their prices weren't so bad--a resin filling cost 100,000 won, and the gold inlays cost 300,000 won. My cleaning was 60,000 won, and the night guard was 400,000 won. Some of their prices (which I did NOT get done): whitening 300-400,000, and a crown 350-600,000.
I am sure there are other places that are less expensive, but I was so happy with this place that I kept coming back and finished all my work. Occasionally I would split up payments. I was treated well, the staff was friendly, and they have an English speaking lady who works at the front counter.
As far as work goes, of all the work I've had done, I only now need to get one inlay adjusted--just recently I've started to become more aware of it--it just sticks out a tiny tiny bit. Everything else--no issues whatsoever, and my night guard is interesting. I've had several night guards and each of them is unique. For example, I've had some that were extra squishy, some that were stiff plastic, and this one sits comfortably on my upper teeth, covers all the teeth, is a hard plastic and looks like it has two vampire teeth . It was one of the more intricate night guard fittings I've ever had. I had an AWFUL experience with my last dentist back home--the night guard was such a TIGHT FIT that it gave me headaches and I ended up throwing it away. This one, Dr Lee had me sit with my jaw slack so that he could find out what my resting jaw position was, then he fit me based on that. The two vampire teeth are so that I can't just grind away. At first it felt a bit strange, but now I'm totally used to it.
The office: The waiting room has two computers with Internet access, coffee, cocoa, and water. They have a book with the dentist's before and after work, which looks nice. They even have this weird laser machine that will laser your canker sores if you have them. I had it done once and it's was bizarre but immediately stopped the pain. The dentist, Dr Lee, speaks English--enough that I was informed of what was happening--like raising the chair, using water, etc. For some of the trickier English he brought in the English speaking lady from the front desk, Sehee. Overall I felt well informed during my visits, I was happy with the work, and plan to go back.
Here's their information:

Location: Gangnam on the green (2) line, exit 6. Walk forward until you get to the cross walk by the bus station. It's the one with the revolving doors next to Paris Croissant. It's on the 4th floor to the left of the elevators. There is a picture map on their website that's actually very clear.
Anyway, you are welcome to ask me more about my experiences. I'm happy to answer anything. |
