I've always bought computers online in the past back when I lived in Canada. Has anyone ever bought a macbook online with the apple store while in Korea? Were there high import fees or anything?

I basically am finding I cannot work well with a 24-inch screen. It's great for movies, games, etc., but I mainly use my computer for music production and writing. I suffer a bit from eye-strain and even if I dim the screen, it's still uncomfortable for me. I have to go back to the 17 inch, as the 24-inch screen is just too hard on my eyes.

It does choke me a bit to sell this iMac (it's been amazing... never a problem, except for the eye-strain). But it's time to buy a laptop.

So, has anyone ever ordered and had the mac shipped to Korea? Tell me if it was all good, or if there were issues.

Just order from apple.co.kr

If you don't speak Korean have a Korean call for you and set it up to make a bank transfer.

That's what I did with my iPad. No problems.

Sweet. Figured it would probably be easy. Thanks for the reply.

They have lots of people who speak English at the Apple Store phone number. If I remember correctly, you actually choose Korean or English on the dial pad when calling. Tell them what you want, give them your email information (If you already have an iTunes ID you can give them that instead) and they will email you directions for transferring the money to their CitiBank account. Once they get the money, they send your stuff.

I would strongly recommend buying a refurbished unit if you can find one. They are available through the online store and you will save 10%-20% and will still get the full warranty.
