So these past few month my utilities bill has hovered from around 115K-118K. So I get my July bill today and it is 125K. Now maybe it is from using my aircon a lot more, but the problem is that I was out of town for five days and the only power should be from things plugged in. I can't imagine this large of an increase. One of my Korean friends tells me that what the building does is look at how much water/electricity has been used, then divide it by the number of apartments. If this is true, will it show the breakdown on my bill? Is there any way to opt out of this socialist system? |

Depends. Are you getting an actual bill from the gas/power companies? If so, then no, it's all you. If it's from the building, then yeah, it's something else.
Opt out of the system? Sure. Move. It's a crap system unless you are the one who takes the most advantage - i.e. running the aircon 24/7, lights on all the time, etc.
If you want to check, find the meters. If there are multiple meters, then you should be able to pay for your own stuff. If there is a single meter, then no, you're stuck. |
