The best thing that can be said for this one is three days without classes. The festival itself seems to consist of a couple of K-pop bands, a few lame fireworks displays, and about seventeen tents in which the identical inedible food, endless soju and watery beer is served. For some inexplicable reason, the students seem to get wacked on this paltry offering. The only palpable result is more vomit on the streets than usual. Oh, well, fewer classes, and I don't have to attend this pathetic excuse for a good time.

My university has classes during festival. The professors must have the morning and afternoon classes. There are no evening classes.

Actually, the second day of this turned out rather well. I took my free-talking class (or rather, they took me), to the event, and we had a decent time, in English, and on their dime, even though it was pissing down rain the whole time (hello, mods, can I say 'piss' here on the Disney/Mormon channel)? Nobody got outrageously 'drunken', at least not on my watch, and a semi-good time was had by all.

Real Reality, sorry to hear that you have to teach during festival week.
At my university there are no classes for three days

"Offically" we are supposed to have classes but since we ask our students are you planning to come to class and most either say no or laugh at us we don't have classes. I looked into my classrooms yesterday morning and nobody was there. One teacher did have class though, feel sorry for those kids

Its been loud and late here running past 11P even with the rain last nite and the bands have been doing bad heavy metal.

I'm hoping our fall festival will be the week before Chusok that would mean a week off total between the two
