I'm not that old, but the retarded shit that young people do these days is getting to be a bit much. "Flash mobs", "silent discos".... Jesus. It's worse than sock hops, hula hoops, and trying to stuff ten people into a phone booth.
That said, enjoy this, and have fun freaking out the squares, daddy-o. |

So this is where you bring your own music and headphones? Seems wierd, but is a way to party where noise level could be a concern. I could easily see it being just a social function over a drink. And loud it would actually be when you get a bunch of people in a room all trying to talk at the same time. I listen to all my music and movies with headphones since you really don't have space to jam out with such thin walls in high population density. The most noise I make is cooking dinner and the clink of a bottle touching my glass as I pour another drink. |

They actually have a DJ and provide headphones for you. You give them an ID as collateral and they let you borrow their headphones. This way everyone can experience the same music without disrupting everyone around them. It's definitely a weird thing to see, but it's something you should try if you love music. |

idiotic.
not even because it makes socializing so difficult (perfect thing for Koreans outside their group) but there's no way any headphone can reproduce the sounds and feeling a quality high end sound system does in a top notch club.
I can do this at home.. why the hell would I make a trip anywhere to experience the same thing (perhaps even worse than the home experience?) |

It sounds like a novel idea dreamed up by some art students somewhere. Enjoy it while it lasts - which probably won't be that long because I'm already working on my blindfolded karaoke event. |

Ditto. So pretentious and insular - could see many Koreans and hipsters liking it a lot though. You could also bring all your little techy tablet gadgets and not interact with anyone; basically like the subway except less comfortable.
Has that retarded flashmob feel to it as well. Not that there's anything wrong with a bunch of actual retarded people starting a flashmob, though I guess others would have to organize it for them.
Up next: the virtual flashmob! |

funniest part of the silent disco: a couple of korean girls standing at the edge of the crowd and not dancing. wall flowers!
they've been doing this for months. i guess it attracts enough new people each time willing to give a novelty a go. |
