Does anyone have a good travel stories? Like you and some friends went on vacation and one of your buddies got drunk the whole time and ruined it for everyone? It doesn't only have to be about Korea it can be about any vacation.

I'll start, I went on vacation to Thailand 3 years ago and I was responsible for taking care of the hotel plans and my friend was responsible for the plane tickets. Well the vacation was awesome except when we arrived to the airport for our return flight back to Korea. He told me the flight number and what time the flight was and we were both searching the departure board looking for it. We thought maybe we were too early and the flight wasn't posted yet, so we waited another hour. Finally with an hour before our flight we walked over to the help desk and asked where was our flight? They informed us that our flight was the night before at 9PM not the morning we were there at 9AM! We both looked like the the biggest morons ever. We both had to buy another set of tickets for $700 each just to get back to Korea. Mad

That was my worst vacation experience. What about yours?

I didn't even look at the ticket, I trusted my buddy enough to figure it out. I was wrong.

Happened to me, as well, but Korean Air put me on stand-by and was able to get back at no extra cost other than spending 12 hours at Don Muang.

I was flying home from the UK and the woman next to me was wearing way too much perfume. I got nauseous and a migraine. By the time we landed, it was so bad that I was sick. We had no sick bags, so I had to run for the toilet. The flight attendants yelled at me to sit down, but I made some obvious sign that I was about to vomit so they let me in.

6 or 7 hours with a migraine and nausea was pretty bad. Not the worse out there, but I wasn't happy.

Aw. . . that's too bad. Something similar happened to me when I was leaving Vietnam. It said 00:14 of February 12th, so I showed up early evening on February 12th to wait for my midnight or so flight. It turns out, I was about seven hours late.

Fortunately, the lady gave me another ticket for free. Kinda sad you and your friend didn't have the same luck.

I did the same stupid thing in Bali, but I had to buy another ticket. THEN, I missed the connecting flight that my hagwon teacher bought for me to go home... so he bought me another one, but then I got only 1/3 of my finishing bonus.

i have a story about a trip i took to budapest hungary. this was last year and i had just come from germany and switzerland from where i had previously been in canada. this was all in a short amount of time.

i arrive in budapest and it was early in the evening and i decide to go out and buy some shaving cream because i had forgot to pack some. on the way back a girl stopped me and started flirting with me. she's a professional tennis player and wanted to go and grab a drink so i think, hey good stuff. we go to a bar to drink and then it's time to pay. i give the man my credit card and he comes back saying it's not working. i'm frustrated at this point and my tab was something like 300usd. so he doesn't let me leave and demands we go to every atm in the city to see if it works. i call the customer support number on the back of my card and they say that they cut off my card earlier in the day because they thought someone had stolen the number and was randomly purchasing things around the world. they also informed me that it was the weekend and they wouldn't be able to activate it until monday. strangely enough this was my third time in budapest so they should have probably guessed that no one had taken my card.

anyways, so this leaves me in a predicament. i never have usd on me anymore since i live in korea, and now my credit card is nigh useless, i had around 1million won in cash in my hotel room but the problem is that almost no one in hungary has heard of won despite the large number of korean tourists i see every time i go there. so at this point i have an angry bar owner which i'm very sure had to be in some kind of mafia driving me around to every atm he can think of, each time getting turned down. so after hours of this and the girl getting dragged along but actually being a good sport about the ludicrousness of the situation, i convince the bar owner to let me keep my limbs and that i would give him his money the next day.

now i go back to my hotel and go to bed, exhausted. next day i wake up and walk to every single major bank in budapest and not a one exchanged won into forint (hungarian currency) so out of desperation i call a friend from romania asking if she happens to know anyone in budapest to which she says she does. i randomly call the number of the guy and he says he just got back from traveling himself and that he'll call me back. he calls me back saying he searched and there is one single money changer in all of budapest that will change won. it is hot as hell outside and i'm miserable after already spending hours having people look at my won as if it was something i created and printed at home because i was bored one nite. i gps this fabled money changer on my phone, a little bit doubtful seeing how the rest of budapest saw the won. since i have nary a single forint to take a taxi i have to walk to the changer, so i head out. hours later i get there and i'm a mess. i'm thirsty, sweaty and stressed and couldn't even buy a bottle of water. i go up to the money changer girl and they are open. the rates are ridiculous but they did indeed exchange won into forint so i change around 800k won and get lunch.

after lunch my phone rings and its my work. they say it's an emergency and they need me on a flight to mexico within two hours. i grab a taxi back to my apartment, pack up my suitcase and jump right back into another taxi. i have that driver stop at the bar to make good on my promise but they were not open and i didn't have any clue how to get that money to the owner. i had to get to the airport so i just left and caught my flight with a little under 800 dollars worth of now-useless forint in my pocket.

now, somewhere in budapest there is a bounty on my head from a very angry mobster and a girl who was curious why i stood her up on a spa date that we were supposed to have that day.

it wasn't a bad experience persay, but more of an interesting they-should-make-a-movie-about-this type of adventure.

i was in thailand with my buds and went on those package island hopping tours. it was all day. we were at our final destination, one last snorkeling session. the boat guy said "5 more minutes!" at that time, everyone began to come back on the boat, ready to go back home.

well, i had to take a dump. should i hold it? or should i just poop now. i went back out, alone. took the snorkeling gear pretending that i am going out for one last session. swam about 10 meters out. waited there. people watching me. i'm still waiting there, feeling like an idiot with my trunks around my thighs. i'm feeling the pressure to hurry and get it over with. finally, i poop. i see it floating by. i swim back to the boat. we leave. i have a new story.

Tried to post this yesterday, but it was too long.

so the short version

Went to Guatemala for a short vacation, got my wallet stolen along with credit cards.

Mastercard sent my card to the wrong country, while I waited there with no cash.

10 days later, still no card, got my uncle in Canada to wire me some money,

left with that, still no card.

Phoned Mastercard and told them to send the card to Mexico where I was staying with a friend. Still took another 3 days.

Between FED-Ex and Mastercard and Western Union, I was near a nervous breakdown by the time I got out of there.
